About Me

University of Iowa graduate with a B.A. in English and Creative Writing and a Media Management Minor

Ever since I was old enough to read, I've known that I was meant to be a writer. Writing about myself and the world around me has grounded me, and it's a craft I constantly seek to develop.

My passion for literature implored me to study English and Creative Writing on the Publishing track at the University of Iowa— one of the best state schools for writers (Go Hawks!) and, after my graduation in May of 2022, I have started to further dive into the world of freelance writing  — be it food, marketing, or anything in between.

When I'm not writing, you can likely find me in the kitchen. As I continue to center food in much of my writing, I try to orient myself with my favorite topic every night by crafting a home cooked meal. Aside from food, I enjoy spending time outside — pickleball, hiking, and geocaching are some of my favorites.

I helped publish Living Proof Anthology, a work designed to feature the writing of talented high schoolers throughout the counties of Iowa. Here are some social media images I designed to help our followers get to know the team behind Living Proof.

sanct Literary Magazine

In 2021, I served as the Public Relations Manager for a literary magazine on The University of Iowa’s campus called sanct Literary Magazine. My peers and I spearheaded this project with the purpose of exploring the concept of home as a sanctuary during scary and unprecedented times. I was in charge of developing our online presence, as well as planning and hosting our virtual launch party. Scroll down to see the profile I ran for sanct.

My Cooking Adventures

To supplement my food writing career, every night I set aside a few hours of my evening to cook a delicious meal that I would be proud to serve at a restaurant. Here are a few of my favorites— including a carbonara made from the egg of an emu.
